Foundation of Hanafor Vizslas:

After many years showing and trialling Standard Poodles, I
became interested in the Hungarian Vizsla. In the early
days, they were relatively scarce. Over the years their
popularity has increased enormously and I have seen many changes
in the breed - some of these changes have
led to over popularity and an increase in dogs needing
rescue or rehousing.
We have tried to incorporate as many photographs
as possible on this site. The aim of 'Hanafor' has always
been the welfare of the breed and to selectively breed for
quality, type, soundness, working ability and beauty.
In an effort to improve the quality and
longevity of the breed in its development, I have imported a
total of six males to date. 2001 was a milestone for me
with the importation of "Punter" (Aust Grand Ch Hanabrit Ponting
The Way (Imp UK) who was bred under my UK prefix 'Hanabrit'.
Right from the start, he made his presence felt being the most
awarded Vizsla in Australia for over four years. All of
the dogs imported have contributed significantly not only to 'Hanafor'
but the breed as a whole in this country. Many kennels
today have 'Hanafor' dogs as their foundation stock.
